Goodbye Charlie Brown!
As many of you know, Mr. Schulz died in his sleep on February 13, 2000. He also announced his retirement just a few weeks before, and this comic was to be the last one he would draw. (note that the date on the comic is 2/13/00!). Mr. Schulz had been drawing Charlie Brown and his friends for almost 50 years! Oh Charlie Brown! We'll miss you so!

- "Charlie Brown" was the name of one of the teachers Mr. Schulz met at the academy where he studied. (I'm sure the yellow shirt w/ the brown stripe wasn't related, though!)
- Lucy, Linus and Rerun are all siblings.
- Charlie Brown and Sally are siblings.
- The name "Peanuts" was not tagged on the comic strip by Mr. Schulz. It came from the syndication under which his comics were published in the early days. Schulz said he never liked the name "Peanuts", but it stuck.
- Snoopy has an uncle named "Spike" who lives in the desert.
