Several possible solutions to improve efficiency of high
voltage circuit to make an ion tweeter more efficient than previous
designs:
- Use solid-state Field-Effect Transistors, since they switch fast
and typically have very low on-resistances.
- Use a tesla coil to generate the necessary high voltage spikes at high
frequencies.
- Modify an existing solid-state, high-efficiency tesla coil to generate
the high voltage.
